Why do people try to be on American Idol? Because they want to be famous. It is tremendously hard to place in the top 10 on American Idol. You must be really something. On the otherhand, you could be really bad. For example, William Hung was probably the worst American Idol contestant in history. Unfortuneately, William Hung was also one of the most successful American idol's.
From being so embarassing on American Idol, William Hung has had his own record deal. He has sold more records than two good-singing American Idols combine. So if your going to go on American Idol and you know you arent that amazing singer, it is a lot easier to become famous from being so bad then actually being good at singing.

Interview on My CPB
Q: Kai, how do you pace yourself when you are writing your Common Place Book (CPB) entries?
A: Well, I try to write about one entry that is at least a page long every other day. This should keep me with the requirement. If I forget on a given day, then I will sometimes write two entries in one day.
Q: What is your inspiration for your entries?
A: Most of my entries are written in response to questions I have. Others are written off my favorite movies, shows, or even board games. Also, I write about things that I do or things that occur in my life. Some of the entries may be considered as a diary. I write about stress, time management, and things that I did during the course of the day.
Q: I noticed you have pictures on most of your entries. Why?
A: I feel that a picture in the entry will catch the eye of the reader. The pictures can also be my inspiration for what I write. I love to go back to old entries and without reading it I can look at the picture and already tell what I wrote about. Pictures will make the entry more memorable and that picture will stay in the readers head. I like the spice pictures add to the entry. If I see a picture in someone else’s entry I just want to read that entry. This is what I want readers to do with my CPB. All of the pictures in my CPB I have gotten off www.google.com.
Q: Which entry is your most favorite entry you have done? Why?
A: It’s hard for me to choose which one is my favorite, but I would have to say that the entry I did about the different kinds of hats is my favorite entry. This entry probably took me the longest because of all the hat pictures I had to get. The entry is basically eight different kinds of hat. Each hat has a picture of it and a small paragraph about who wears the hat, with what and also the styles of the hats.
Q: Do you think that you could follow up on this idea and what you did with your hat entry?
A: Yes. I was thinking for the next entry I write would be about the different styles of glasses or shoes. It would be interesting I think to have a collection of all the different types of these items we see daily.
Q: Which entry is your least favorite entry you have done? Why?
A: I would say that the entry I wrote about Stereotypes is my least favorite. I don’t like this one in particular because I never really finished it. My mind blanked out and I didn’t know what else to write about. The entry is kind of plain in my mind and without a picture it really isn’t that appealing to me.
Q: Did you enjoy writing in your CPB so far?
A: Ya, a lot of the time I could relieve some things I had on my mind in my writing in my CPB. I had fun with a lot of the pictures and things I wrote about in it.
Q: Did you find it hard to write in your CPB and search for ideas?
A: At first it was hard to continuously come up with these ideas, but over time it became a lot easier. Sometimes I would be eating lunch and an idea would just pop into my head for my next entry. I would make a mental note to make sure to write about it. It was a lot easier after the first couple entries.
Q: If you could change the assignment to focus only on one theme would you? To what?
A: You would think it would be easier to just write about anything rather then focusing on one thing, but it’s not true. Because the assignment is so broad you have to choose carefully on what you want to write about. Still, I wouldn’t change the assignment to a theme. If you changed it to a theme I think you’d ruin the fun of having to choose and make it a lot easier.
Q: Are you happy with what you have done thus far in your CPB?
A: Yes. I am very happy with the things I wrote about. I liked how I wrote about my favorite things and things that I did. Some of the things in my CPB are reflections. I am happy with the effort I put out thus far. I could relate to everything I wrote about in my CPB and that’s what kept me so interested in writing in it.
